Mormon President Confesses To Using Chewing Tobacco

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –

Several months ago Mormon President, Thomas S. Monson, told his inner-circle that he has been battling with an addiction to chewing tobacco since high school. He plans to formally announce his addiction to the larger LDS community in the coming weeks.

A source close to the beloved president spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“He’s the prophet, but the prophet is still a man and prone to sin and I forgive him.

“I knew he was using tobacco. I saw him spitting into Gatorade bottles in his office. When I asked him if he was using chew, he said they were sunflower seed shells. But I knew it was chew. My mom used to chew. I could smell it on his breath all the time. I’m just glad he came out to us and wants help. I had been planning an intervention.”

Tobacco is forbidden in the Church along with caffeine and other addictive substances so this admission from the LDS leader should come as a shock.

Monson will enter a Mormon-run rehab clinic and expects to return to his duties within a month.
